FINANCIAL MEMBERSHIP & FEES

All participants in Ipswich Little Theatre (ILT) must be financial members of the society. Membership is therefore required for all Youth Theatre students.

  • ILT membership: $35 per year
  • Youth Theatre tuition fee: $240 per year
  • Total for new enrolments: $275

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Payments can be made by card, cash, or online transfer.

  • Membership ($35) is due by the 3rd class of the year
  • Full fees may be paid upfront by the 3rd class of the year

Alternatively, families may choose to pay $95 up front and $60 per remaining terms.
No other payment plans are available.

Students whose fees are not up to date will not be permitted to attend classes, rehearsals, or performances until payment is made. Ongoing non-payment may result in the cancellation of enrolment.

Any concerns should be discussed with the Youth Theatre conveners.

ATTENDANCE

All Youth Theatre students are expected to attend weekly classes.
Students cast in productions are required to attend all scheduled rehearsals, bump-in/bump-out days, and performances. These dates will be provided in advance.

Parents must notify the conveners of any absence:

  • At least one week in advance where possible
  • No later than 24 hours prior, except in compassionate circumstances

Students who cannot attend all scheduled performances will not be considered for a role in that production.
Extended absences without communication may result in the loss of a student’s place.

Youth Theatre is a collaborative, ensemble-based program. Students are expected to actively participate in group activities, exercises, and rehearsals. While we understand that some students may occasionally need to step back, regularly choosing not to take part or disengaging from group work is disruptive to the learning environment and impacts other students.

If a student is frequently opting out of activities, the conveners may contact families to discuss whether Youth Theatre is the right fit at this time.

CLASS TIME

Class times are held as follows:

Sparks: Saturdays 8:30am – 10:00am
Flames: Saturdays: 10:30am – 12:30pm
Firebrands: Wednesdays, 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Families will be advised if classes are cancelled due to public holidays or theatre bookings.

REHEARSALS

Additional rehearsals and/or extended class times may be scheduled in the lead-up to performances. Families will receive adequate notice.

COSTUMES & PROPS

Students may be asked to supply some costume items or personal props where these cannot be provided by the theatre.

Reimbursement is only available with prior approval from the conveners.

PHOTOS, VIDEO & MEDIA

Students may be photographed or filmed for promotional and training purposes. This material (including names) may be used on the ILT website, newsletter, and social media.

Parental consent is required and can be withdrawn at any time by contacting the conveners.
Please indicate your preference on the registration form.

ENROLMENT

Youth Theatre enrolments remain open throughout the year, subject to availability.

Returning students are given priority. New enrolments are accepted at the discretion of the conveners based on available places, group balance, and the capacity of the program to safely and effectively support each student.

Enrolment is not confirmed until ILT membership and the current term’s fees have been paid. Once a group has reached capacity, additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list and contacted if a place becomes available.

SIGN-IN / SIGN-OUT

All students must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian at every class, rehearsal, and performance.

If someone else is collecting your child, the conveners must be notified in advance.

Students will not be left unattended or allowed to leave the premises alone.

Firebrands: if your child will be making their own way to classes, a Duty of Care Release form must be completed.

CONDUCT

Students are expected to behave in a way that supports a safe and positive learning environment.

If a student’s behaviour is harmful to others or the group, they may be asked to take a break or, in serious cases, have their enrolment withdrawn.
While this is a last resort, ILT and the Youth Theatre conveners reserve the right to refuse or cancel enrolments on a case-by-case basis.
