The 39 Steps follows innocent bystander Richard Hannay as he races cross-country from London to Edinburgh and back to solve a mysterious crime: before it’s blamed on him!?
Ipswich Little Theatre announces auditions for THE 39 STEPS by Patrick Barlow, directed by Shane Mallory, to be held on Monday, 6 June 2011 at 7.30pm.
Auditions will be held in the Jean Pratt Building, ILT Theatre Complex, Incinerator Theatre, Burley Griffin Drive (off Griffith Road), Ipswich 4305.

The 39 Steps
This is a ILT Mainstage production.
Rehearsals will begin as soon as possible after casting
Opens: Wednesday 28 September 2011
Closes: Saturday 15 October 2011
Cast Required: 3 Men, 1 Woman
Richard Hannay– late 30s approx, tall, dark and handsome, British orphan, involved in international espionage and intrigue.
Pamela, Annabella, Margaret– 20-30, played by same actress, love interest, secret agent, Scottish wife, also involved in espionage and intrigue.
Clown 1 and Clown 2: These actors play all other supporting characters. They include spys, vaudevillians, policemen, Scots, innkeepers, heavies. Must be physically agile and expert with dialects.
It is preferable that all actors be physically agile and confident with British dialects among others.
The 39 Steps is a comic mystery based on the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock movie and John Buchan’s novel. The love story is the heart of the play.
